There are already many Transport Tycoon pages on the web. Therefore I like to bring something else. On this and on the following pages you will find a complete description of a Transport Tycoon Game.
From the beginning of the game in 1950 to the end in 2050. The duration of each episode is about 10 game years. There will be a lot of pictures on these pages.I tried to make them as small as possible, but they still eat up a lot of your Internet bandwidth.
With a game in the "Hard" mode you have a lot of vehicle breakdowns. In addition to that, busses are crashed by UFO's, there are airplane accidents and other disasters.
It is just a small real world. The UFO's are a bit frustrating, just when you have no more money they go to damage a bus. There is no way to escape from this. Even when you put the bus in the garage, the UFO goes inside and does its dirty job
There is also money inflation in this game. In the beginning everything is cheap and you don't earn so much. Later the trains, busses, boats and airplanes becomes more and more expensive. To compensate this, the earnings will rise also.
Depending of the game world these boats can transport different types of cargo or passengers, like this one.
There are very often crashes with planes. Always during start or landing. If you don't like you can switch "disasters" off and you have no more problems.
Transport Tycoon has some very nice music.
Here you can listen to one of them, or download the MIDI file.
The title is: Aliens Ate My Railway. Download here(right click) or play with the Flash Player.
The small villages are already connected by roads. All these villages are really very small. Too small to start a money making Transport Company.
There is no choice, you have to start somewhere. There is one Power Station, but no coal mines will be found. The above picture shows the whole map of my scenario.
Since this is really very small, here comes a enlarged part of it.
On the big map it is about at the begin of the delta of the river in the middle of the map.
This area is located between the two mountains at the top of the map.
The high mountains are covered with eternal snow. This is all a part of the scenario that we will play together on the following pages.
It is the Sub Arctic climate. The manual says that this is a North- American style landscape, with tall mountains covered in snow, and forested areas.
Well this can also be found in Switzerland and since I live there, it is one of my favorite landscapes. The other favorite is the Sub-Tropical climate.
Also visible at this maximum zoomed level are the small "squares". The complete map is made of an array of 256 by 256 of these squares.
